?She's singing 'Fernando', people!?
We never knew we wanted Cher to sing the hits of ABBA, but the latest trailer for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again has jolted us with the realisation that we never actually wanted anything more.
The latest look at the long-awaited sequel centres around Cher's cameo as — wait for it — Meryl Streep's mum. Don't try making sense of the numbers on that, just go with it and watch the video below:
Aside from the sheer joy of Cher belting out the ABBA classic 'Fernando', there's also some classic Cher comedy when her daughter Donna's friend Tanya (Christine Baranski) — again, don't do the math — offers a toast to "the woman of this and every hour".
"You're too kind," she beams, before being told that Tanya actually meant her granddaughter Sophie (Amanda Seyfried).
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again's latest clip also features new footage of Meryl Streep seemingly in the present day, singing with her bandmates Christine Baranski and Julie Walters.
There's even a brief shot of Meryl and Pierce Brosnan dancing together in shiny costumes, also seemingly set in the present day.
Considering that the prior trailers made it look like Lady Meryl's character Donna had been killed off (and thus sparked huge outrage), this is a positive sign, right guys?
Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! is due for release in US cinemas on July 20, 2018 and UK cinemas on July 27, 2018.
